HOMESAVVI NAMES JAY BOSWELL VP SALES
Online home remodeling resource appoints industry vetean to top sales position
SEATTLE (July 22, 2009) – HomeSavvi (http://www.homesavvi.com), the premier online resource for home remodeling, announces the appointment of Jay Boswell as vice president of sales. In his new role, Boswell will be responsible for expansion into new markets, generating new business relationships with key industry professionals and retailers, and achieving annual revenue targets.

Boswell has more than 25 years in the home improvement industry. Most recently, Boswell served as director of market development for Homax Group, Inc., a leading supplier of DIY and professional home improvement products. Boswell drove Homax’s growth in its professional distribution channel to 212 percent over the company target and launched new products in more than 10,000 retail locations. In addition to sales and marketing functions, Boswell provided key input to the research and development team on new product development and current product improvement.

Prior to Homax, Boswell spent four years leading the sales and marketing turnaround of SPRAYTEX, Inc. a leading manufacturer of aerosol wall and ceiling repair textures. Through the sales processes he instituted, sales increased 54 percent and gross profit increased 11 percent. From 1990 to 2001, Boswell served as vice president of sales for manufacturer’s representative agency DTB, Inc., which represents Skil-Bosch Company, Swiss Army Brand®, Goof-Off® and Saint-Gobain among other brands. At DTB, he managed the sales and merchandising staff for all regionally-based accounts resulting in annualized sales growth of 21 percent and impacted business partner revenue by more than 200 percent.
Boswell began his career as a general manager at DTS, Inc., a regional distributor of professional hand tools. In his seven years at DTS, Inc., he established the company’s first Northwest presence and hired, trained and managed the sales team for the five-state territory.
Boswell is a graduate of Central Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance.
