Personal:
My wife and I purchased our first home in Ohio while she was attending graduate school. It was built in 1926 and it had been both loved (once upon a time) and neglected (say, for the previous generation or so?) or in other words...a remodeling hobby to fill my weekends with. I've moved on from that first home, but I still love old houses and as a design professional I am always thrilled to assist home owners revive an older home and make it 'theirs'. Over my professional career I've helped several families remove the problem areas in their existing homes and turn them into favorite places.Design Approach:
When it comes to remodeling - I always approach each space with the thought that it can be improved and enjoyed even more while also achieving a seamless integration with the existing architecture of the home. Sometimes that is as simple as a coat of paint. Sometimes it requires extensive and deep restructuring. Time and budget parameters are significant elements that direct my decision and recommendation process. What I love most about remodeling is taking an existing space and transforming it into something special. I also value the re-use of homes that might otherwise be tear-downs and hauled off to the land fill. Remodeled houses tell stories - and it is the remodels that occur over time that frame the chapters of a home's unique and interesting tale.Professional:
