With this kitchen remodel, our customer’s main focus was to have the ability to entertain large numbers of people without losing the feel of a classically designed kitchen. In order to obtain the maximum size of the room, it was necessary to remove three stories of the chimney as well as adding new engineered framing members. The existing kitchen layout actually had three separate entrances to the kitchen itself. By eliminating one of the entrances, and changing the location of another we immediately increased the available space for the traditionally designed cabinetry. The last challenge we faced was adjusting the third and final entrance from the dining room, to give the kitchen a larger feel. In order to give the room a little more space, we opened up the wall between the dining room and kitchen to allow for the eating bar. Once all of the demolition and framing changes were dealt with, all that was left to do was provide the finished product of various tile patterns and beautifully designed custom cabinetry. With well thought out design and product selection, we were able to provide the customer with a one-of-a-kind entertainment and family gathering area.
