Green remodeling is top of mind for many homeowners. There are many criteria for green solutions including minimizing waste, maximizing recycled materials, and energy efficiency. This year's winning project is only the third remodel to earn Built Green's 5 star designation.

Seattle, Washington
Our goal was to create a family home for the next hundred years that worked with the proportions of the established neighborhood. By remodeling the existing first floor and adding a wholly new second story, the result represents a perfect union of architectural refinement, superior craftsmanship, urban intelligence, and environmental sensibility.
We managed to overcome the many challenges in this 1903 house and stay within our goal of $190/square foot. Only the third remodel to earn Built Green's 5-Star designation, this project is "the most extensive and efficient use of salvaged materials" that the Built Green verifier had ever seen.
