Information Architect/User Experience Guru

We are seeking a highly experienced, self-motivated individual as our lynchpin for information architecture as well as user experience development & guidance. Our number one goal is to make this website a compelling and useful experience for busy homeowners who need to get the right information quickly. This person's work product is critical to the company's success.

This is a part-time position with the potential for full-time employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with executive management to understand the fundamental problem we solve.
  • Develop superior information architecture for easy navigation and information display.
  • Work with development team to develop website UI that is user-friendly, highly scalable and easy-to-implement.
  • Work with graphic design team to ensure that graphical and branding elements support the user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Direct experience managing information architecture with consumer website experience a must
  • Strong knowledge of user generated content design principles
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Web Developer

Seeking experienced web developer for newly funded Seattle startup. Get in on the ground floor and have the excitement of creating new applications and processes. The perfect person is entrepreneurial, needs minimal supervision, and can creatively complete projects on a minimal budget.

Responsibilities:

Start as a PT (7-10 hrs/wk) contract Web Developer. You will begin by working within our CMS development framework and become relied upon as the technical guru. Initially, the focus will be on delivery of the next version of the system. Thereafter, you will be responsible for helping to specify and lead the company into new versions and plan for the future.

This position involves all aspects of web-based software development: from analysis, to design, to development, to test, and to release. The applicant will be the primary person responsible for coding/documenting/testing/delivering the product. This will involve designing the UI, creating the Application Layer, Data Layer, etc. This developer will also be responsible for underlying documentation.

This is a fast paced and fun environment in which the developer will be required to rapidly create and deploy solutions. The ideal candidate must be resourceful and have excellent problem solving ability. We work long and hard hours to make this a raging success and our best candidates will have a similar passion.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • Experience interacting with/deploying to Linux/Apache server environment
  • Experience with database-backed web apps highly desirable
  • Experience or familiarity with team-based development using CVS, Subversion or others
  • Basic graphic design skills are necessary while advanced skills highly desirable
  • Cross browser, cross platform development experience
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, produce clear results and collaborate frequently
  • Must be both detail-oriented and also able to see the big picture while working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work and excel in a start-up environment
  • Ability to work remotely initially (until we get office space) and attend meetings in Seattle or Bellevue when necessary
