The waaaaiting is the hardest paaaarrt

Here we are waiting on eggshells. We started this project back in July, finalized the design within the first couple of months, and since then have been waiting. Waiting for plans to be drawn up, waiting for the drawn-up plans to be submitted, waiting for a response from the city, waiting for city-mandated alternations to be made to the submitted plans, waiting for final approval so we can start construction. We are in limbo land - especially given that we have no idea when we'll have to move out (all that depends on the start date) or where we'll be living (that depends on when we'll need to move out).

In the meantime, the builders have told us to start looking at appliances, plumbing fixtures, flooring, etc. I never thought I'd be into choosing appliances - but I am. I sit here on the couch surfing various review web sites, visiting manufacturer web sites, posting to forums, all in the name of due diligence. BTW, anyone have experience with reliability of Electrolux ovens/cooktops?

Although it's been good to keep busy looking at options, it's also made the waiting in anticipation part even more anticipatory. Now, I am itching for them to break ground, because I want results NOW!
