The first step for me, when starting a project, is to get pictures of the Before stage. The final result is always breath taking, and your friends will Oh and Ah when they see it. But if you want WOWS! have a "baby book" available. Pair pictures of what your kitchen used to look like with what it looks like now.
And for the fun of it, take during pictures. It is a great way to show off the special features you added or the problems you had to over come.
